I brought my car in to have tires put on rims for the summer. I let them know that there are two different size bolts for the rims. Longer in the back and shorter in the front. This last week I notice one of my lug bolts was missing off the rear wheel. I was pissed but I didn't know if Steve's Auto World had anything to do with it. This week, I went to swap my summer tires with my winter tires and noticed a mix of short and long lug bolts on all my tires. The short ones barely grabbed the hub. Can you say safety issue. Also, and this pissed me off the most, they did not torque the bolts down. I assume the just rammed them in with an impact. On max pressure. Because I had to use a breaker bar to some of the bolts out. 3-4 of the I had to put all my weight on it to get them to move and I am around 240 lbs. One bolt was soo tight that I thought that I was going to break my breaker bar. My impact wrench could not loosen the bolt. I ended up having to heat the bolt and then I was able to get it out. I have gone to them a couple times putting on tires on rims. The first time I had to bring them back because they put the weights on so close to my brake calipers that it started chipping the paint on the calipers and making a thud thud thud noise when I drove. Now, when I brought it to their attention, they did replace the weights for free. Which is why I went back to them the second time. But, after this, I will never go back to them. They are not up to the quality that I would expect.
